OCTOBER 2026 NEW RELEASES - THE CRITERION COLLECTION
THE CRITERION COLLECTION has announced that it will release on 4K BLU-RAY THE COMPLETE KUBRICK, a box set bringing together Stanley Kubrick's entire directorial output. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.
The films are ー DAY OF THE FIGHT (1951, in both Original and RKO Versions); FLYING PADRE (1952); FEAR AND DESIRE (1952); THE SEAFARERS (1953); KILLER'S KISS (1955); THE KILLING (1956); PATHS OF GLORY (1957); SPARTACUS (1960); LOLITA (1962); DR. STRANGELOVE, OR: HOW I LEARNED TO STOP WORRYING AND LOVE THE BOMB (1962); 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY (1968); A CLOCKWORK ORANGE (1971); BARRY LYNDON (1975); THE SHINING (1980, in both Theatrical and International Versions); FULL METAL JACKET (1987); and EYES WIDE SHUT (1999).
クライテリオンから届いた9月の4K UHD BLU-RAY／BLU-RAY BOXセット『コンプリート･キューブリック』（1951 - 1999）リリース･アナウンス。長編監督13作品＋短編監督3作品（BLU-RAYとのコンボ／24枚）特典ディスク（BLU-RAY／6枚）を所収した合計30枚仕様となる。

長編監督作のうち『シャイニング』は144分北米公開版と119分インターナショナル版（コンチネンタルバージョン）を収録。短編作品はいずれもドキュメンタリーで『DAY OF THE FIGHT（拳闘試合の日／51年／RKO配給版とオリジナル版）』『FLYING PADRE（空飛ぶ牧師／51年）』『THE SEAFARERS（海の旅人たち／53年／初カラー作品）』を収録。
特典映像として25時間のインタビュー、ドキュメンタリー、舞台裏映像を収録。その中には監督の末娘ヴィヴィアン（当時17歳）撮影によるドキュメンタリー『Making 'The Shining'』（4Kリマスター）『ロリータ』のスクリーンテスト等が含まれる。外装はキューブリック自身が愛用した「保管用ボックス」にインスパイアされた特製ケース仕様。内装にはレアな写真や新しいイラスト、さらにキューブリック自身による注釈付きのアートワークや文書がレイアウトされる。
プロジェクトは2024年に始動。異なるスタジオが保有する権利の集約と交渉、そして合意に半年以上の時間が費やされた（実際にはそれより数年前から、スタジオ、キューブリックの遺族や関係者との信頼関係を築いている）。マスター素材は新たにネガスキャンから4Kレストアされたマスター、スタジオ保管の4KレストアDPXファイルなどさまざまだが、クライテリオンが補修･最終チェックを行っている（但し先行単品リリースされた『バリー･リンドン』『アイズ ワイド シャット』は同マスター）。HDRはHDR10とドルビービジョンHDRをサポート。サウンドに関してもオリジナルトラックと5.1ミックスが修復･リマスターされている。この間にクライテリオンは、ウェス･アンダーソン監督作と25年にわたるキャリアを祝う4K UHD BLU-RAY／BLU-RAY BOX『THE WES ANDERSON ARCHIVE: TEN FILMS, TWENTY-FIVE YEARS』（10作品／20枚組）をリリース。市場の反応も上々で、キューブリックBOXをリリースする上での有益な検証結果になったという。
