絢爛豪華な心霊屋敷が、人の心を狂わせる。
20世紀初頭。小説家を目指すイーディスは、富豪の父の会社に投資を持ち掛けてきた準男爵の称号を持つ英国紳士トーマスと出会い、恋に落ちる。そんな折、父が不審な死を遂げ、イーディスは莫大な遺産を相続することに。悲しみの淵にあった彼女はトーマスと結婚、クリムゾン･ピークと呼ばれる山頂にある彼の広大な屋敷へ招かれる･･･。
主演は『アリス･イン･ワンダーランド』『イノセント･ガーデン』のミア･ワシコウスカ。共演に『ゼロ･ダーク･サーティ』のジェシカ･チャステイン、『マイティ･ソー』のトム･ヒドルストン。
