4K DIGITAL RESTORATION
独インディーズ･レーベル、ウィキッド･ビジョンから届いた4K UHD BLU-RAY『ソドムの市』（1975）リリース･アナウンス。35mmオリジナルカメラネガからの4Kデジタルレストア／HDRグレード。HDRはHDR10とドルビービジョンHDRをサポート。レストア2.0 MONOトラック収録。手書きシリアルナンバー入り限定証明書が付属するプレミアムハードスリップケース仕様。カバーデザインは2種類（各限定1500セット）。本BOXには80頁の独語ブックレットが所収されるが、購入者には英語デジタルPDF翻訳が提供される。
1970年代の幕開けと共に、ピエル･パオロ･パゾリーニが監督した『生の三部作（のちにパゾリーニは撤回）』ー『デカメロン』（1971）『カンタベリー物語』（72）『アラビアンナイト』（74）は、それぞれベルリン国際映画祭･審査員特別賞、同映画祭･金熊賞、カンヌ国際映画祭･審査員グランプリを受賞、高い評価を受けた。そして彼が取り組んだのが、マルキ･ド･サド原作の本作品である。舞台をファシスト政権末期のサロ共和国（イタリア社会共和国）に移し、4人の権力者が別荘に少年少女を集め、倒錯的なセックスとサディズムの限りを尽くす様を描き出す。『生の三部作』にみる大らかな性は地獄の性の饗宴と化し、国家権力による性の私物化を痛烈に批判したのである。
ウィキッド･ビジョン（Wicked Vision Distribution GmbH／旧社名Wicked-Vision Media）はカルト映画からホラー、名作クラシックに至るまでの高品質フィジカルメディア･リリース専門のレーベルである。スタートは映画オンラインマガジン（2000年創刊）であったが、2015年からは熱心な映画ファンやコレクター向け専門のブティック･レーベルとして再スタートを切っている。独自にフィジカルメディア販売事業を展開、現在までに200タイトルほどの作品をリリースしている。
テクニカラー･イタリアーナ（テクニカラー･ローマ）に永久保存されているオリジナルカメラネガを使用。映像･音声レストアおよびHDR／SDRグレーディングは、ミュンヘンを拠点とするポストプロダクションおよび修復･復元専門スタジオ、LSPメディア（独語表記 LSP Medien）が担当。ウィキッド･ビジョンが多額の資金を投じ、LSPメディアと共同でオリジナルカメラネガからの世界初の4Kレストアを実施しており、完成した4Kマスターはウィキッド･ビジョンとLSPメディアの独占ライセンス下にある（独占使用権がワールドワイドか、欧州地区だけかはアナウンスされていない）。
5-DISC仕様（下欄参照）。本編は117分のノーカット版（結婚式でゴットフリート･ベンの詩を朗読させるシーンを完全収録）。この約25秒のシーンは、権力による性的搾取と狂気的な支配を象徴する重要な場面である。すべてのオリジナルMONOトラックも初めて完全レストアされ 、新たに作成された英語字幕をオプション収録（ON／OFF可）。
