アロー･ビデオから届いた4K UHD BLU-RAY『マウス･オブ･マッドネス』（1994）リリース･アナウンス。35mmオリジナルカメラネガからの2018年4KスキャンDPXファイル採用。2025年4Kデジタルレストア／HDRグレード版。HDRはHDR10とドルビービジョンHDRをサポート。

サター･ケインの本は読んだか？保健調査員ジョン･トレント（サム･ニール）を突然襲って射殺された男は、最後にそう言い残した。その夜ジョンは、新刊「マウス･オブ･マッドネス」の発売が待ち切れず、各地で暴動を起こすケインの熱狂的な愛読者たちのニュースを知る。ケインは出版前に失踪事件を起こしていたのだ。次の日、ケインに保険金を掛けていた出版社から捜索を依頼されたジョンは、担当編集者リンダ･スタイルズ（ジュリー･カーメン）とともにケインの行方を追うことになる･･･ 。人間の創造の産物である小説が邪悪な力を持った時、人間の精神は侵され、狂気の世界に引き摺り込まれていく ー その恐怖を描いた監督ジョン･カーペンターによるミステリー･ホラーがUHD BLU-RAY化。原作は『マネーボール』『キャプテン･フィリップス』といった劇場映画や、エミー賞独占した『SHOGUN 将軍』などのプロデューサーとして知られるマイケル･デ･ルカによるオリジナル脚本。直接的な言及はないが、デ･ルカの脚本はホラー作家H･P･ラヴクラフト作品のトリビュートとなっており、ラヴクラフトの作品やテーマを数多く引用しながら、彼の常套手段である回想形式を用いている。タイトルは中編小説『狂気の山脈にて（At the Mountains of Madness）』をもじったもので、ラヴクラフトの小説と同様に本作品でも「狂気」が重要なテーマとなっている。非公式ながら、『遊星からの物体X』『パラダイム』に続くカーペンター監督「黙示録三部作」最終章。
撮影は『パラダイム』以降のカーペンター監督作で知られるゲイリー･B･キッブ。パナビジョン･パナフレックス･ゴールドⅡ／35mmアナモフィック撮影。特撮をILM、特殊メイクをKNB EFXが担当。音楽は監督カーペンターと『恋のマネー･ゲーム』『アイ･アム･ウォンテッド』のジム･ラング。音響エンジニアは『ロボコップ（オスカー受賞）』のジョン･ポシュピシル（サウンドデザイン）『バットマン リターンズ』のジョン･ダン（音響編集監修）『ダンス･ウィズ･ウルブズ（オスカー受賞）』のジェフリー･パーキンス（リレコーディングミキサー）。
