ケンタッキーにある医療会社で働くことになったフレディ。初出勤の日、フレディは先輩社員であるフランクから、信じ難い話を聞かされた。会社の地下室にゾンビが保管されているというのだ。フランクはフレディを連れて現物を見に行くことになるが･･･。ジョージ･A･ロメロ監督作『ナイト･オブ･ザ･リビングデッド』へのオマージュを感じさせる異色のSFゾンビホラー。原案は『ナイト･オブ･ザ･リビングデッド』の製作メンバー、ジョン･ルッソとラッセル･ストライナー。出演はクルー･ギャラガー、ジェームズ･カレン、トム･マシューズ。
撮影は『ジョニーは戦場へ行った』『デリンジャー』『死霊伝説』のジュールス･ブレンナー。音楽はミュージシャンのマット･クリフォード。サウンドデザイン／音響編集監修は『激突！』『アサシン』『ショーシャンクの空に 』のダール･ジョンソン。
