アロー･ビデオから届いた4K UHD BLU-RAY『テキサス･チェーンソー』（2003）『テキサス･チェーンソー ビギニング』（2006）リリース･アナウンス。いずれも35mmオリジナルカメラネガからの最新4Kデジタルレストア／HDRグレード版。HDRはHDR10とドルビービジョンHDRをサポート。前者のサウンドはDTS-HD MA7.1、5.1およびPCM 2.0収録。後者は91分劇場公開版と96分UNCUT版を収録しており、サウンド仕様はDTS-HD MA5.1および2.0（劇場公開版）DTS-HD MA7.1、5.1および2.0（UNCUT）収録となっている。ちなみに、いずれも国内DVDリリースのみ。

悲鳴の祭典。
当時30歳の監督トビー･フーパーが、実話を基に完成させた監督デビュー作『悪魔のいけにえ』（1974）。最恐最凶ホラーの誉れも高いフーパー監督作を、ヒットメイカー監督マイケル･ベイの製作（ベイが設立した製作会社プラチナム･デューンズによる第1回プロデュース作品）でリメイク。監督はビデオ･クリップ界出身で、本作品が劇場長編デビューとなったマーカス･ニスペル。旅行中の5人の若者がテキサスの片田舎でふと立ち寄った一軒屋。そこで出会った殺人鬼一家。映画は若者たちを襲う言語に絶する恐怖を描く。フーパーと74年版の脚本家キム･ヘンケルが共同プロデューサーを務めており、新たにふたりが執筆した草稿を『マシニスト』『クレイジーズ』のスコット･コーサーが改訂して最終稿を完成させている。主演は『ステルス』『幻影師アイゼンハイム』のジェシカ･ビール。レザーフェイスに追われるヒロインを熱演し、一躍人気若手スタアの仲間入りを果たしている。公開後は批判的な意見も多かったが、映画は950万ドルの製作費に対して世界興収1億700万ドルを稼ぎ出すスマッシュヒットとなった。
撮影は74年版の撮影監督であり『超能力学園Ｚ』『AVP2 エイリアンズVS.プレデター』のダニエル･パール。ARRIアリフレックス435、パナビジョン･パナフレックス･ミレニアムXLほか／35mm（1.37:1アスペクト）球面レンズ撮影。上映サイズはソフトマット1.85:1ビスタサイズ。4KスキャンとデジタルレストアはワーナーMPI（モーション･ピクチャー･イメージング）が務め、カラーグレードをHDRグレーディングをロサンゼルスの著名な独立メディアサービス･ラボ、デュプリテックが手掛けている。本作品はコダック撮影、富士フィルムでプリントされており、そのため富士エテルナ（CP 3513DI）をベースにしたLUT（ルックアッププテーブル）が採用されている。
音楽は『トランスフォーマー』シリーズのスティーヴ･ジャブロンスキー（リモート･コントロール･プロダクションズ）。サウンドデザイン／音響監督は『GODZILLA ゴジラ（1998）』『パシフィック･リム』のスコット･マーティン･ゲルシン。

恐怖の原点 絶望の頂点
『テキサス･チェーンソー』のスマッシュヒットを受けて製作された続編。前作より過去に遡った前日譚であり、殺人鬼レザーフェイス誕生の秘密が明らかにされる。1939年。食肉処理工場で肢体が不自由に生まれた赤ん坊。包装紙に包まれてゴミ容器の中に捨てられた彼を、ゴミを漁っていた女が拾う。その子はトーマスと名付けられ、女とその夫が暮らすヒューイット家で育てられることになるが･･･。時は流れ、ベトナム戦争の戦況が悪化を辿っていた1969年。ベトナムへの出征を間近に控えたディーンとエリックの兄弟は、それぞれのガールフレンドを伴ってテキサス縦断の旅へと繰り出した。思いも寄らぬ恐怖が待ち受けていることも知らずに･･･。製作は引き続きマイケル･ベイ率いるプラチナム･デューンズ。監督は『黒の怨（うらみ）』『ミュータント･タートルズ（2014）』のジョナサン･リーベスマン。主演は『姉のいた夏、いない夏』のジョーダナ･ブリュースター。
